ABOUT

Golden Star Entertainment, established in 1995 became a pioneer in the kpop industry often being cited as the creator of the "idol" template that is currently used by most of the industry. Known for putting particular emphasis on creating the perfect idol, trainee's are trained for several years before debut and during those years are put through rigorous training in vocals and dancing. They have strict policies on image whether that be the physical looks of their trainees or the public image and concept they put forward into the public. Golden Star Entertainment had much success during the first and second generations of kpop establishing them as one of the powerhouse companies in kpop. It was during the end of the second generation that GS had suffered through their first scandal, 3 members of influential 2nd gen group KINGDOM left citing unfair pay, "slave contracts", bullying and injuries obtained during their time as members. This case and the subsequent inquiries after greatly altered how GS was run, former CEO Jung Min Jun quitting and leaving the group in the hands in his second in charge Choi Sora. GS has had issues after that their previous money makers didn't do well with the public which lead to them been more experimental. Notably the GΔLΔXY's predebut concept of Girl Of The Month was considered potentially lethal to the company many people suggesting that doing all this work before debuting was a waste of much needed funds. While MxM , a boy group they are planning to debut in 2019 are said to have an unknown amount of members and to have a rotational line up.

Midas despite their name didn't have the golden touch when they debuted. Debuting during the generational change over between second and third generations as well as in the middle of GS's battle with KINGDOM. There song was to different to what the general public was used to and the company itself had a lot of negative press at the time making Midas seem like a distraction. The group manage to gain some sort of fanbase, their first mini selling around 10k. The group second mini album and title, a much more publicly friendly ballad helped lessen the image the group undeservedly had but it wasn't until they released their first full album in 2015 that finally had the success that people came to expect from a Golden Star Entertainment. From that comeback and onwards Midas became the main "bread winner" of the company. The group still has their troubles, there seems to be blatant favoritism towards certain members of the group inspiring infighting among their fandom, one of the lead dancer was involved in a dating scandal with a much older actress and the groups reputation is getting clouded over by their fandoms constant misbehavior.

♪GΔLΔXY-|

GΔLΔXY at this point is Golden Star's most ambitious venture yet. Given a year of predebut promotion, GΔLΔXY's Girl Of The Month concept got a lot of attention. One for it's out of the box way of introducing the members and two because of the money GSE was putting behind them, with each girl given their own solo mini - music video including and two units (Day and Night) promoting on Music Shows alot of netziens (especially Midas fans) were worried that GSE was wasting their money. It took 4 months for this project to return any revenue but GSE kept the project running believing in the potential of the group. The full group debuted in 2018, with their international fanbase far exceeding their domestic fanbase the groups debut was meet with mediocre success with many people using this less than stellar debut as a reason to bash the group. The group is scheduled to have a two comebacks this year the company suggesting this may be a make or break year for the group, especially with the debut of GSE's newest boy group which more than likely going to get all the companies attention.
