All the inspirations of Star Beam's outfits at S/S 2019 Concept Films

  • So hi there πŸ‘‹ I'm posting a blog of Star Beam's inspo for S/S 2019 Concept Films. So the aesthetic of "I Am" era is a combination of ballet & fairy tales with a hint of modernity (so they can wear their outfits onstage fro the upcoming Dream Concert except Chloe, Jeonah, Saeyoon & Yujia)

    RYUNA AS KITRI

Our redhead lideonim who is known for her femme fatale onstage charisma so she is the one who portrays Kitri of "Don Quixote". So I choose a red off shoulder dress with a matching fascinator for a seductive yet modest take as Kitri

    CHAEHEE AS JULIET

With so many adaptations of Romeo & Juliet (from ballet to movies), it's possible for Chaehee to have a dress inspired by more than one adaptation of Romeo & Juliet. Chaehee's reprising Juliet (she already portrayed Juliet in Memory Lane era) is once again a mix of the 1968 film (the color) & the ballet version (the silhouette) with cold shoulder & boots for a more modern & grungier (for the 90s version) take of Juliet.

    CHLOE AS CLARA

Continuing the "heroine" theme from "Super Boy" era, Chloe was seen in the end of the teaser wearing a military jacket underneath her white dress. In the upcoming Dream Concert, Chloe will wear a military style dress to merge the styles of Nutcracker & Clara

    HYOSHIN AS CINDERELLA

Hyo's take on the iconic Disney Princess is very stage friendly & makes her look taller. The style was a combination of the 1950 classic & the 2015 remake thanks to the choker & off shoulder

    JEONAH AS GISELLE

Jeonah tells a doomed love story of Giselle which is the opposite of her real love life status which is happily dating Christian of Royals in the Dark with a white hair juxtaposing with her messy strawberry blonde ombre hair. If you think about makeup, I would intentionally make her look pale

    SAEYOON AS ODETTE & ODILLE

Saeyoon slayed "I Am" & many became Saeyoon-biased thanks to this era. She has many center parts in spite of few lines (Star Beam improved in their line distribution) . The Asia's Next Top Model C6 EP 2 sparked an inspiration to me thanks to Adela (who is a half Filipino) said that "...I am her insecurity" as she explained her take on the Swan Lake photoshoot. On that episode, Jachin won the best photo (who happens to be a Filipina like me). Back to Saeyoonie, if she's not wearing a beret onstage, she's wearing a feather fascinator. Also Rainbow's "Black Swan" & Yves' "New" also inspired Saeyoon's (& the entire comeback) concept. If you want a more in-depth post about "I Am" era's style, upvote & comment πŸ™‚

    YUJIA AS AURORA

Please don't sleep on our center & maknae! The maknae wore a long ass ride err gown (just to tease her thanks to Jaehyun) as the classic Disney princess Aurora which is inspired by one of the concept arts of Sleeping Beauty & Elle Fanning's portrayal of Aurora. I chose a neutral gown instead of pink (Yujia's representative color) so it won't overshadow Yujia's purple hair (which is a mix of pink & blue which is again, an ode to Aurora). The floral details are ode to Aurora's love of nature since she is raised in a forest away from the kingdom

    |-I hope you appreciate my explanation & thank you for supporting Star Beam this "I Am" era!!!!! 😘-|

Oh, I would like to mention that "The Boys" era of SNSD heavily inspired Star Beam's comeback especially Jessica's teaser photo for both Odette (princess-y & feminine) & Odille (edgy & sexy) sides

While the bad-ass Odille aspect is inspired by a mashup of Infinite's "Last Romeo" & NCT's "Black on Black" eras (maybe on the future appearance, we will focus on prince-like outfits a la NCT & Infinite)
