๐—ฃ๐—˜๐—ฅ๐—ฆ๐—ข๐—ก๐—”๐—Ÿ๐—œ๐—ง๐—ฌ: To be perfectly honest Padme is lazy. She would rather spend the entire day lounging and watching bad tv than do something productive which is really a low blow to her so called hunger for success. The thing is, as of late she just can't really be bothered with anything - it constantly feels like life is bringing her down ( and by life she means her parents, mostly). Even if you don't know her well, someone who does has probably already told you about Padme: she's charismatic, friendly and always on the go (well, when she's in the right mood). She never says no to a dinner or a party, especially if someone else is paying for it. What you won't expect for Padme to do is for her to try too hard. And for most things like her job or day to day responsibilities she doesn't really, but when it comes to meeting new people or making friends, Padme tries a lot. She desperately wants to be liked and remembered. She wants people to think she's fun and interesting because those are all the things no one in her family used to think about her. She longs for forever lasting friendships, unconditional love and security - even though she will never admit it and from time to time has the tendency to have fear of commitment.

    ๐—•๐—œ๐—ข๐—š๐—ฅ๐—”๐—ฃ๐—›๐—ฌ:
Ever since Padme has known about herself she and her family have constantly been moving around from one state to another. Her father's job demanded constant relocation and her family was grateful that both their daughter were bubbly and friendly individuals and never had trouble making new friends. But moving around tends to have a toll on you no matter how much you try convincing yourself that you don't care. This has made Padme a bit flaky when it comes to relationships and friendships alike.

During her teenage years she had decided that she has had enough, what was the point of making new friends if her friendships never last? She started loathing her father's job and life in general before completely throwing herself into the only thing that understood her at that time: school and computers. This (and that one movie starring Angelina Jolie) made Padme fall in love with the art of coding and soon she began testing the limits of her hacking skills. She hacked into her school's library, got access to tests and just caused overall havoc in the little town they lived for three short months.

The older she got, the more Padme realized that she didn't really like school. In her mind it was a waste of time, while for her parents it was all they ever talked about. Once her older sister went to college it was Padme's turn to be nagged with questions about her future. For the first time in her life, she was actually sure about one thing, but wasn't exactly interested in the part where she has to pursue it academically.

Her parents didn't have the money to send her to MIT - they were already spending all their finances on Riya's education, so Padme moved to Boston where she attended a lousy community college that apparently had very good coding courses. Two months in and Padme was jaded. College wasn't what she thought it would be and a semester later she dropped out without anyone's knowledge. Her sister found out a year later and for the next twelve months she constantly urged Padme to tell their parents.

Two years after dropping out, Padme finally gathered enough courage to drop the bomb on her parents and they were devastated. And very, very angry. Her mother was in shock and her father was furious. They were both yelling and asking way too many questions. There was even talk about sending Padme to live in Mumbai with her fraternal grandparents so she can get herself straight. The revelation put a rift between Padme and her father, something that still hasn't been settled until this day.

Despite her countless freelancing, her parents still refuse to believe that she's doing just fine by working from home. They think that the only valuable job is the one where you wake up at six in the morning and put on a suit for.

Padme thought that after a couple of months it will blow over but almost a year later and they still haven't accepted it, making Riya the only supportive family member in her life. But that soon came to end after Padme got fired from her fourth job that month and refused to get off from the couch. They had a fight and Padme decided to move out. But instead of finding another apartment she made the decision to leave Boston all together and move to the city of her dreams: the Big Apple where she knew her childhood best friend (the one she lost touch with oh so many years ago) lives.

Not to mention the part where she wants to prove her parents and sister wrong - Padme Gupta CAN make it on her own.

Padme's relationship with her family is a little more than complicated. Her mother is difficult and her father is still living by the principles his father and grandfather instilled on him since he was a child. They are not exactly traditional per say, but they do value certain things and one of them is for their children to be very well educated so they don't have to struggle in life like some of their relatives did and still do.

Ever since she dropped out of college two years ago and moved to Boston to live with her sister, things haven't exactly been smooth sailing for Padme and her parents. You see, she and her father are barely speaking and she tries to avoid her mother as much as possible. The only person she's still somewhat close to is her older sister Riya, but even that has somehow managed to get messy. Riya thinks Padme is immature and refuses to grow up, while Padme thinks that Riya has a stick up her ass and is obsessed with making her parents happy instead of herself.

The over-bearing, but still lovable mother, Yasmin likes to stick to the values and traditions her parents taught her. Apparently that means constantly annoying her daughter with talk about marriage and how she just can't wait to be a (young) grandmother. It's no lie that she prefers her oldest daughter Riya - something that has put a great strain in her relationship with Padme.

If there's one person that keeps the peace in the Gupta household it's probably Devansh. While she was younger, he and Padme used to be very close, but her recent poor decisions in terms of her education and lifestyle has put a big strain in their relationship. They haven't been speaking for almost half a year now - something that bothers Padme a lot.

It's safe to say that Riya is the favorite child - prim, proper and incredibly successful, she's in her final year of med-school and about to get engaged to the love of her life ( aka the man her mother set her up with three years ago). Despite their on-going rivalry - mainly from Padme's side - the two are very close. After their recent fight, Padme decided to move out from her sister's apartment in Boston.

Despite their high optimism and never ending designer hand-me-downs, they are clearly trouble, but leave it to Padme to be blinded by the glitz and glamour of the Upper East Side and their wild lavish parties.
