A Face To A Name
Emma Roberts - ugh ok... so when the Nancy Drew movie came out all I ever got was that my older relatives thought I looked like her which at the time was the height of compliments because I had just inherited my mom’s Nancy Drew books and she was an icon. A lot has changed over time but I’ll put her here because she’s actually the only celeb I’ve ever consistently been compared to
Zoey Deutch - maybe this is me identifying to much with her character from Set It Up but we’re the same age and when she has her darker hair color I think it could work. Her personality also seems so sunshine and unapologetic about being herself which is who I’m working toward being. So I’m keeping her here because I can say so.
Caitlin Stasey - she has so many tattoos and is literally cooler than I could ever hope to be but she has the right shade of dark brown hair that mirrors my natural hair color and brown eyes that aren’t super light.
If anyone feels like there’s someone that reminds them of me, that would literally make my day so suggest it to me!
The Basics
Demographics
Age: 24
Birthday: February 17
Hometown: Right outside NYC
Occupation: Currently an Administrative Assistant for a Global Risk Consulting Firm but hopefully not for long. Previously I worked in Marketing for an Educational Publishing company
College: A SUNY outside of Rochester, NY where I majored in International Relations with a concentration in War & Peace Studies (and 1 class shy of a History minor, forever cursing that secretary who wouldn’t let me into the class)
Extra-Curriculars: I’m not in school but when I was I produced 2 shows on our campus tv station while hosting one, writing the other and being club treasurer (where I learned I’m bad with money but good with college club bureaucracy); acted as president of my class for all 4 years of college; studied abroad in The Netherlands; was active in a sorority; was an RA (I have hands down one of the wildest stories from this, they literally changed RA training bc of one of my incidents); and probably a lot more I was an overachiever with no time. Currently I’m doing a fantasy baseball league and bar trivia with some friends.
If You Have to Live Somewhere Might As Well Be Here
Residences
So I grew up in Westchester, which I’m sure some of y’all might remember from the infamous The Clique novels. I didn’t grow up in that version of Westchester, I saw it from a slight distance living in a city that borders The Bronx and does not have any of the mansions described in those novels. (They exist though, my brother goes to college in that area of the county and it’s surrounded by insane homes). I love my hometown, it can be a bit trash at times and they’ve been struggling recently with incidents involving the schools and overdevelopment but it’s where I call home.
For college I traveled up into the depths of winter and lived in a small farm town about an hour outside of Rochester, NY at a SUNY. It was winter from October until April and I walked about 20 minutes in hail every weekend to go to parties wear a men’s shirt as a jacket bc fashion. I really enjoyed the community on my college and living there was wonderful for those 4 years.
During college I spent 1 semester living in Groningen, Netherlands. It’s an insanely fun city that I definitely didn’t take enough advantage of but thats another story probably not for here. I lived in a dorm across from a school for little kids and had a lot of experience trying to bike around parents holding their children on bikes which is a time. I am absolutely going to go back with my boyfriend at some point so he can see where I was during that semester of a 6/5 hour time difference.
Currently I’m in one of those Northern Virginia suburbs of DC. It takes me about 40 minutes by metro to get into work and takes about 15 minutes by car into the city. I love being in the DC metro area, I feel like I’m really in the middle of everything. Surprisingly I’ve found a lot of friends from my little college in this city too which has really helped with the transition, but the best help has been the fact that I’m living with my boyfriend. He’s been here since December 2017 and I moved in June 2018 and I love living with him, we’ve got a great system (meaning he cooks and I get to enjoy it). I’m not sure where we’re going next with our eventual plans for post-grad degrees but if it’s DC I’ll be happy.
Some Things I Like
Sports
I am so into sports, I could literally talk for hours about teams that I like or even teams I don’t like. We don’t have cable in my apartment so I’m forced to stalk the ESPN app and all the Twitter accounts I follow but when there’s a big game I’ll find a way to watch it. Like I literally have been waking up early on the weekends to watch English Premier League games because I’ve decided I needed to learn more about and appreciate soccer. I used to make my parents quiz me on the names of all the big 4 sports teams because I was obsessed with trivia and facts as a kid.
You might have picked up on this but a lot of characters I write have a younger brother who plays a sport, this is because this is literally my life. I’ve been to most of the ice rinks in the Tri-State area with my younger brother’s travel hockey team and I wasn’t always the most supportive of it but now I’m absolutely his biggest fan. I literally got in a car and drove 6 hours to go watch him play in the NCAA Hockey tournament and cheered for him against my college. Hockey is such an important part of my life I feel like it should go here.

Hopes, Goals, Dreams, & Aspirations
I’m currently working in a field I thought was a perfect fit for my degree and the things I wanted to do with it and it turns out it’s not it. If I do continue in a line of work where I utilize my degree I would like to actually do something I’m more interested in which specifically would involve how the internet and social media is used to categorize threat levels and recruit/create extremists around the world. It’s not exactly the most fun sounding but I’ve done some work on this for papers in college and I was super into it. I’d probably go into a masters degree program in National Security or Terrorism Studies with this kind of career path.
Other possible career goals include marketing, teaching (specifically history) - this I think is the most likely, and then the ultimate dream screenwriting for television. I’ve drafted my own pilots, even wrote an entire season of a show once in college so I definitely know I can do it it’s just the actual steps necessary include pretty much moving to California and not having a job so I’m not super into that.
There’s also the fact that I’d love to work in sports, like working for Team US Olympic Committee is what I always say is my dream job. There’s a lot of logistics and steps toward getting to that and honestly I’d work for any major sports league or team as well.
But I guess my biggest takeaway here is that it’s totally rational and fair to not know what I want to do with my life at 24.
Take a Picture It’ll Last Longer
AppearanceHeight: 5’6”
Hair: Brown but I get blonde highlights
Eyes: Brown
Defining Features: a scar under my lower lip, literally no make up ever (I missed that stage of being a preteen/teen where you learn and honestly at this point I’m scared), I’ve been told I have annoyingly smooth skin - like I only just got my first ever pimple as a 23 year old, my brows - full and thick and the one feature I get consistently complimented on
Be Who You Gotta Be
Motto/Philosophy on LifeSometimes the world sucks and crying helps, so cry and cry often. Try to be better than you were yesterday. Care about what makes you happy and do that. Don’t let someone’s lack of enthusiasm get you down. Ask questions & speak up. Know your own flaws and admit when you make a mistake. A smile makes others smile. Be the support you need when you’re struggling. Treat yourself.

Polyvore Origin StoryWay back when I was 11 I got my first laptop and learned what Fanfiction.net was, I waded my way through story after story and then found the forums which introduced me to roleplaying. Basically I joined about every group and claimed characters and then did next to nothing with them but some girl posted a poly set for her character’s outfit. That one thing opened me up to the site, it soon took over and I joined the first roleplay I saw making a character that had no backstory just did things. My first real group was one of @followyourbliss ‘s groups and it really took off from there and I got to write Delaney and meet so many more of y’all.

Perhaps your writing skills are inadequate. Then it is better to ask https://www.personalstatementwriter.org/good-personal-statement-examples-by-our-writers/ for help. Personally, it helped me a lot when writing a personal statement.
