Every time I download a super detailed model, I feel like my regular workflow just isn’t enough—my slicer either freaks out or the supports are a mess. What are your go-to tools or slicers for handling really complex prints? I’d love to hear what works for you, since I’m still experimenting and wasting way too much time re-slicing. Quick story: I tried printing a multi-part mech last week and ended up with spaghetti for legs!

Totally feel your pain—complex models can be a nightmare! For me, I swear by PrusaSlicer for most things, especially big multipart files, and if I need to do a lot of manual support editing, I use Meshmixer before slicing. When it comes to high-quality 3d files for 3d printing in stl format, they usually come with instructions or tips for slicer settings, which saves me tons of time. I learned the hard way that some slicers just handle dense meshes better, so I switch between a couple depending on the model. Don’t be afraid to tweak settings and do a test slice—sometimes a little patience upfront saves hours later.
