"Champagne Supernova" is a song by the band Oasis, written by Noel Gallagher and sung by his brother Liam. It is the closing song of the album (What's the Story) Morning Glory?. Despite being released as a single only in Australia, the music video for the song was released on music channels around the world.
One hypothesis is that Noel Gallagher came up with the title when he confused the name of the Pixies' album Bossanova while watching a documentary about champagne.[citation needed] Another version of the story is that "champagne supernova" is the act of smoking marijuana. while drinking champagne.[citation needed] However, Gallagher said he has no idea what he meant by the song.Later, Gallagher bought a house in North London and named it "Supernova Heights".
(https://blenderartists.org/t/champagne-supernova/1198758)However, the most accepted hypothesis is that in 1995, after a show in Norway, Liam and Noel would have been delighted with an observatory in the place, from where it is possible to see a Supernova and, according to the two brothers, it is of the color " champagne". Hence the justification for the quasi-official title of the song.
Noel coined the phrase "Caught beneath the landslide" when he saw an Alessi Gianni sugar jug ββin his girlfriend's kitchen.[citation needed] A photo of this jug is found in the CD booklet, as a background for the lyrics of the song itself.
Noel Gallagher claimed in 2005 that he had still not made up his mind as to what the song actually is about, having previously told an NME interviewer in 1995:It means different things when I'm in different moods. When I'm in a bad mood, being caught beneath a landslide is like being suffocated. The song is a bit of an epic. It's about when you're young and you see people in groups and you think about what they did for you and they did nothing. As a kid, you always believed the Sex Pistols were going to conquer the world and kill everybody in the process. Bands like the Clash just petered out. Punk rock was supposed to be the revolution but did it do? Fuck all. The Manchester thing was going to be the greatest movement on earth but it was fuck all. When we started, we decided we weren't going to do anything for anybody, we just thought we'd leave a bunch of great songs. But some of the words are about nothing. One is about Bracket the Butler, who used to be on Camberwick Green or Trumpton or something. He used to take about 20 minutes to go down the hall. And then I couldn't think of anything that rhymed with "hall" apart from "cannonball" so I wrote, "Slowly walking down the hall, faster than a cannonball." And people were like, "Wow, man." There's also the line, "Where were you while we were getting high?" because that's what we always say to each other. But the number of people who've started clubs called Champagne Supernova is fucking unbelievable. And the album isn't even released yet.
In a radio interview with the BBC, Noel said that guitarist Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs cried during the recording of the song, because of the beauty of the song. This story was also substantiated by Ian Robertson's claim, in his book Oasis: What's The Story?, that the first time Noel played the song for the rest of the band - an acoustic version on the tour bus - Bonehead cried.
In a 2009 interview, Gallagher told the following anecdote:
This writer, he was going on about the lyrics to "Champagne Supernova", and he actually said to me, "You know, the one thing that's stopping it being a classic is the ridiculous lyrics." And I went, "What do you mean by that?" And he said, "Well, Slowly walking down the hall, faster than a cannonball β what's that mean?" And I went, "I don't know. But are you telling me, when you've got 60,000 people singing it, they don't know what it means? It means something different to every one of them.

How many special people change?
How many lifes are living strange?
Where were you while we were getting high?Slowly walking down the hall
Faster than a cannonball
Where were you while we were getting high?Someday you will find me
Caught beneath the landslide
In a champagne supernova in the sky
Someday you will find me
Caught beneath the landslide
In a champagne supernova
A champagne supernova in the skyWake up the dawn and ask her why
A dreamer dreams, she never dies
Wipe that tear away now from your eyeSlowly walking down the hall
Faster than a cannonball
Where were you while we were getting high?Someday you will find me
Caught beneath the landslide
In a champagne supernova in the sky
Someday you will find me
Caught beneath the land slide
In a champagne supernova
A champagne supernova'Cause people believe
That they're gonna get away for the summer
But you and I, we live and die
The world's still spinning around
We don't know why
Why, why, why, why?How many special people change?
How many lives are living strange?
Where were you while we were getting high?Slowly walking down the hall
Faster than a cannonball
Where were you while we were getting high?Someday you will find me
Caught beneath the landslide
In a champagne supernova in the sky
Someday you will find me
Caught beneath the landslide
In a champagne supernova
A champagne supernova'Cause people believe
That they're gonna get away from the summer
But you and I, we live and die
The world's still spinning around
We don't know why
Why, why, why, why?How many special people change?
How many lifes are living strange?
Where were you while we were getting high?We were getting high
We were getting high
We were getting high
