Stand tall, a voice reminds him. Remember who you are. There is no time to thoughtfully consider the past, the images of previous selves. He opens the file cabinet, shelving away the dossiers of truths and lies, and straightens. Rimrod, Madi fixes his cufflinks and hoists the steel-laden bat across his back. Back to business. And make sure not to stain his shirt!

A weepy, impish beast who clocks your patterns before the clock strokes past a 1/12th. Those eyes... they seem so charming, unassuming, and yet, he knows. Pearls of opalescence, dirtied plastic, and shimmer of blood spatter. A portrait of a car on fire, drowning and stinking in kerosene. He doesn't bother to scream in his own demise, too shy. His mouth opens, it spews slime, before the wolf curls in his territory. Keep out and you will do just fine... Yet, that coat. It has thin wisps that bind, a thick red-thread of fate, and you cannot avoid his teeth as they clamp down. Sweet flesh, burnt. Quietly, he murmurs, "Rest in peace.

    ๐…๐ˆ๐๐„๐‘ ๐ƒ๐„๐“๐€๐ˆ๐‹๐’:
โ €โ € Quite a long time ago, Mads used certain channels to take care of his identity. Currently, he operates under a falsified Social Security number that once belonged to a man of a similar age. Officially, his name is Madigan, as it always has been, though his last name has changed to a new surname, similarly rooted in his ethnicity. Thus, very little is known about his life prior to five years ago.

โ €โ € At the time of the acquisition of his new identity, he worked under Mother Goose as her accountant. Of course, that wasnโ€™t enough for the young man, still attending university for his degree in Business Accounting and Abstract Mathematics. Ambition was a curse, dragging him onward to his first โ€˜trueโ€™ crime (other than money laundering, which he claims doesnโ€™t truly count). Embezzeling.

โ €โ € Years later, this choice has come to haunt him, as Mother Goose never quite forgave him for cutting and running away with almost a million in her funding. Using the influx of cash, he changed his identity and became lost to the world. Working for other high-profile criminals, he did their bookkeeping, provided counseling on the best ways to spend and clean their money, along with skimming a little off the top. This time, he wasnโ€™t so stupid as to make it noticeable, running several rackets at a time, and garnering a little money with each new client. He intended to the play the long-con, and his meticulousness has paid off.

โ €โ € Itโ€™s unclear when Mads became a killer, as he wonโ€™t admit much of the past that makes him look unseemly. He has an image to uphold. His family expects a certain sense of dignity from him, as they always have. While he separated from them financially six years prior, he still holds them near and dear. Itโ€™s not uncommon to hear him mention vaguely of either parent, though a shadow falls over his face when he mentions his siblings. Itโ€™s unclear who is who, as information about them tends to be incredibly inconsistent. Reports from former and current clients mention a brother, a sister, and simply โ€˜a siblingโ€™ who all almost set Madiโ€™s childhood home on fire when he was eight, amongst other stories. Some believe it is the outlandishness with which he paints some of his family members that make him seem soโ€ฆ normal. With charming looks, a good head on his shoulders, an academic brain, and seemingly good breeding, he quickly became a first-choice amongst clients for business that most accountants wouldnโ€™t otherwise agree to.

โ €โ € If one had to guess at his first kill, it was likely the first client who tried to kill him. Madigan doesnโ€™t brag about his hit-list, likely because it is unimpressive and usually a point of shame. He mentions it, only briefly, when prospecting buyers ask. Itโ€™s only in self-defense or necessary for the preservation of both of our interests. Yet, Madigan has been poked and prodded time and again for kills outside of his line of work, people who have never done anything to him, due to his cleanliness and prompt servicing. Not even a single drop of blood, one client offered in astonishment. Yes, Mads offered before disappearing out the door of the estate, a man lost to darkness.

โ €โ € Composed and detail-oriented, Madigan continues to remain largely anonymous in the criminal world, except to those who hear of him via word-of-mouth. He seeks glory, yes, but not in ways others might. He hoards money like a pirate, keeping it secure for some unknown purpose, and rarely flaunts his wealth except in ways he deems socially important. The newest phone, classic and timeless interior design, high quality textiles, and dues to the best country club in the Hamptons, even when no one sees him on the green. Then, some frivolities, such as Mikey Wayโ€™s bass guitar, a recreation of the Master Sword, or the entire collection of Aqua Teen Hunger Force on DVD. His apartment is akin to a museum (mausoleum?), with little to no guests. As a result, he remains anonymous, by and large, with his ego only apparent to those who encounter him.
