a grand dream

    ππ€πŒπ„: Alice Takahashi
    𝐀𝐆𝐄: Seventeen
    ππˆπ‘π“π‡πƒπ€π˜: October 7th, 2003, 4:30pm
π™πŽπƒπˆπ€π‚: Libra sun, Gemini moon, Aquarius rising

    𝐆𝐄𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐑: Female
    π’π„π—π”π€π‹πˆπ“π˜: Lesbian

π‹πŽπ‚π€π“πˆπŽπ: Mystic Falls, a mysterious, supernaturally-influenced town in Virginia whose culture seems to be stuck in the past.
    ππˆπ‘π“π‡ππ‹π€π‚π„: Chicago, Illinois

    π‡π„πˆπ†π‡π“: 5’6
ππ”πˆπ‹πƒ: Slim and fit, thanks to the exercise she does to improve her stamina and core strength.
ππŽπ’π“π”π‘π„: Upright and well-trained, though not rigid. It becomes much lazier when she’s sleepy.

𝐒𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐒: A few along her back from a failed attempt at climbing a tree to get a better view of the moon. No one told 11-year-old Alice that coming down was much harder than getting up.
ππˆπ„π‘π‚πˆππ†π’: 3 (One on each lobe, one on her conch)
π‚π‹πŽπ“π‡πˆππ† π’π“π˜π‹π„: Casually elegant, bordering on minimalist, marked by her ironic preference of comfort over trendiness. She generally likes to wear clothing that lets her move and create freely. Even when dressing formally, she favors looser silhouettes. Loves experimenting with color and dabbles in similarly attention-grabbing prints, but isn’t a fan of neons. Her favorite accessory, by far, is jewelry; she’s known for having an eclectic collection of bracelets and rings.
    π•πŽπˆπ‚π„: Gentle and controlled

    πŒππ“πˆ: ESFP
    πŽππ“πˆπŒπˆπ’π“ πŽπ‘ ππ„π’π’πˆπŒπˆπ’π“?: Optimist
    π“π„πŒππ„π‘π€πŒπ„ππ“: Sanguine

𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐆𝐓𝐇𝐒: Curiosity, flexibility, cleverness, exuberance, and amiability.
𝐅𝐋𝐀𝐖𝐒: People-pleasing, caprice, selfishness, an allergy to confrontation, flightiness, hypocritical cunning, and a desire to always be the peacemaker. The latter is going to morph into something very different as her story unfolds.

πŒπ€πππ„π‘πˆπ’πŒπ’ & π‡π€ππˆπ“π’: Purses her lips when she’s frustrated, almost as if she’s restraining herself from saying something out of turn β€’ crosses her arms when she’s on defensive mode β€’ carries a notebook that she often doodles in during classes that she can’t pretend to care about β€’ can’t fall asleep unless she’s holding something β€’ gets way more affectionate when she’s tired

    𝐆𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐒𝐓 π’πˆπ: Pride
    𝐆𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐒𝐓 π•πˆπ‘π“π”π„: Patience

𝐏𝐄𝐓 𝐏𝐄𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐒: Impatience, pretentiousness, and mind games that she can’t win

𝐑𝐔𝐋𝐄𝐃 𝐁𝐘 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐓 πŽπ‘ πŒπˆππƒ?: Not even she knows anymore.
πŒπŽπ“πˆπ•π€π“π„πƒ 𝐁𝐘: The whys, hows, and what ifs

    π„ππ„π‘π†π˜ 𝐋𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐋: High
    πŒπ„πŒπŽπ‘π˜ 𝐋𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐋: In the middle

πŒπ€πˆπ π†πŽπ€π‹: Being the best version of herself and gaining more control over her powers...which she intends to keep.
π–πŽπ‘π’π“ ππˆπ†π‡π“πŒπ€π‘π„: Being ordinary and worth forgetting.

π€ππ˜ 𝐒𝐄𝐂𝐑𝐄𝐓𝐒?: She jokes about being an open book, but she’s much more private than she appears to be. She’s obviously not planning on telling anyone that she’s a psychic any time soon. Since Alice knows how to manipulate her thoughts in front of Rowan, she will never know that Alice wants to keep her powers either, even if that means that she will lose hers.

    π…π€π•πŽπ‘πˆπ“π„ π“πˆπŒπ„ πŽπ… πƒπ€π˜: Early morning
    π…π€π•πŽπ‘πˆπ“π„ π€ππˆπŒπ€π‹: Owl
π‡πŽπππˆπ„π’: Acting, singing, making art, improv, calligraphy (which explains her beautiful handwriting)
πˆππ“π„π‘π„π’π“π’: Theatre, music, mythology, and, through learning about her own family, the paranormal.

π…π€π•πŽπ‘πˆπ“π„ π…πŽπŽπƒ: Curry or stew (she knows that’s vague, but chances are that if something qualifies as a curry or stew, she will inhale a bowl or two of it, no questions asked)
    π…π€π•πŽπ‘πˆπ“π„ πƒπ‘πˆππŠ: Mango juice
π…π€π•πŽπ‘πˆπ“π„ πŒπ”π’πˆπ‚: Quirky alternative pop and anything with lots of drama; she particularly likes concept albums
    π…π€π•πŽπ‘πˆπ“π„ πŒπ”π’πˆπ‚π€π‹: Sweeney Todd
π…π€π•πŽπ‘πˆπ“π„ 𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐂𝐄: Anywhere quiet and peaceful enough for her to process her own thoughts.

    π‡π„π€πƒπ‚π€ππŽππ’:

    ● Became interested in theater and singing at a very young age, thanks to her father’s collection of old musicals, play adaptations, and movie posters. From ages 5 to 13, she put on a short show for her parents every December 1st, and they’ve still got them all on tape.

    ● Her vocal technique is good enough to make it clear that she was trained by a professional for a bit, but that teacher never told her that improving her range would be such a lengthy process...it still manages to be more than decent, though.

    ● Doesn’t really get method acting, but if asked about it, she’d say something like β€œI respect the people who have the tenacity for that sort of stuff, I guess.” Prefers improvising on the spot.

    ● Has avoided social media because she doesn’t want to know any more about complete strangers than she has to. Unfortunately, her place in the school’s hierarchy has sort of required her to keep up with whatever’s going on drama-wise, and she’s begrudgingly made an Instagram account this summer.

    ● She tries her hardest not to be judgmental and treats the vast majority of people the way she’d want to be treated, but some people make it very, very hard for her to stick to that rule. If Alice has bad blood with someone, though, she’ll still be kind to themβ€”in fact, she’ll be almost sickly sweet just because she knows it will make them furious.

    ● Always makes sure to thank the higher powers that be for letting her inherit her mother’s clear skin.

    ● Adamantly refuses alcohol or anything else that’ll mess up her voice; thankfully, her reputation as the star of the choir club allows her to avoid too much questioning from her classmates (for now. Someone’s going to get the girl drunk eventually).

    ● Since Shohei has pretty old-fashioned values (which even reflect in the name he gave Alice), he’ll make remarks about how he can’t wait to get grandchildren of his own, or casually joke about how his daughter hasn’t gotten a boyfriend yet, and she will be forced to grin and bear it. When she does get a crush, she never handles it well. Her clubmates tease her about how she’s managed to go 18 years without dating and she’ll insist that she’s only focusing on education, but when someone brings up that her grades are only above average because school bores her so much, she’s never able to defend herself. Only Rowan is in the know.

    ● Though there is genuine kindness in her heart, her powers have forced her to keep people at a distance, for the most part. If she cared about everyone, she’d probably lose her mind. This will change when she finds a friend that forces her to be vulnerable and unlearn her manipulation skills.

    ● Anyone who knows Alice is well-aware of her dedication to the fine arts, but if they asked her what she was planning on doing after high school, she’d shrug and say something like β€œI’ll wait and see what happens.” Though she is very talented, she wonders if she’s good enough to make a career out of acting; it doesn’t help that she gets the most practice via a situation that may very well be temporary. One could say that she has impostor syndrome, but Alice already seems to know that she’s a bit of a fraud in every respect. Like every thing that makes her upset, she prefers not to think about it.

    ● She follows the common thread of popular people having many acquaintances, even more admirers, and very few, if any true friends; in her case, her only companion is her cousin, and they were only brought closer by tragic circumstances. Alice knows that this is also a consequence of her intentionally keeping people at a distance. Her only safe method of coping is through journaling, which appears less concerning to others than throwing herself into whatever production the school is putting on.

    ● Alice’s parents are always amused at how she seems to have inherited her uncle’s sly, dark sense of humor. Chances are that if some kind of prank is being conducted at Mystic Falls High, she’ll be assigned the role of the person who definitely has no idea what’s going on, and will be found laughing the hardest when the prank lands. An unpretentious actress, she’s not afraid to make a fool of herself if it’ll bring joy to at least one person.
