Choi Chaeyoung or better known as Chaehee is Star Beam's Main Dancer, Lead Vocalist, & Rapper . She was born on June 8, 1996 in Busan, South Korea.
Chaeyoung was born to a poor family (parents, 1 older brother and 1 older sister). Her family moved out so many times because of unpaid debts before she was born. Once they settled in Busan, she met Baekah (who is Jeonah we all know and love) and since then they became best friends since forever. Together, they spend childhood together and Chaeyoung encouraged Baekah to pursue many activities including sports and singing.
Chaeyoung auditioned because she wants to save her parents from scammers when she was a teenager. She always love singing but due to her traumas, she shifted to dancing for a while. She auditioned to Woollim Entertainment but she was rejected. Then one time, she was encouraged to audition to her current agency and the rest is history. The reason why she chose Chaehee as her stage name is to avoid confusion with TWICE's Chaeyoung. She trained for 4 years
In the group, she is known to be an all arounder but she rather share her talents to everyone by contributing in the idol creative process (choreography, video editing and now, songwriting). Chaehee wants Star Beam to be known as a group with strong individuals and strong unity for a long time. She is quite emotional person but at the same time, she tries her best to defend other members from trolls and two-faced media.
