When Nicolas married a wrong woman...

    Nicolas had enough.

Gloria was getting crazy. During the past few months her attitude changed from poshy to b*tchy. During Clarissa's christening she behaved normal, even tried to be nice to Anne (who wouldn't at least try to be nice to his Queen). But than the afternoon reception took place on Balmoral, and it was done.
Gloria didn't care about her daughter. She simply put her in nanny's arms, took a seat next to her equally haughty sister Fiona and started drinking flutes of champagne.
Close to the end of the reception, she was more than slightly tipsy and Nicolas felt so embarrassed when he had to let her to their room.

The only light moment of that horrible day was his cousin, who promised him to ask the Prime Minister about his possible divorce.
Nicolas knew it will be a huge scandal for the Royal Family - Queen's cousin divorced for the second time, only 20 months after lavish wedding at St. George's Chapel of Windsor Castle.

His wedding to Gloria was a huge mistake.
He decided to marry her only to give his two sons from his first marriage a mother, and that blonde 35-year-old woman looked quite suitable. And she even behaved well during their seven-months relationship before their engagement.

But it should've warned him that her father was more than glad to give him his approval.
That Nicolas actually didn't want to buy her some horribly expensive engagement ring, which was a thing she insister on.
So he received that huge, yellow diamond square ring from his childhood friend Ian Watts.
Ian's wife cheated on him and he decided he didn't want her engagement ring in his house anymore, so he gladly gave it to Nicolas.

And immediately after his proposal on a private beach on Bali, Gloria's attitude changed in astronomic speed.

For their engagement she wore custom-made Chanel dress.

For their civil wedding ceremony on Windsor Guildhall, Gloria arrived in, again, custom-made vintage-inspired lace jumpsuit by Chanel Vintage and crazy kokoshnik-inspired headband by Maggie Mowbray Millinery.

But their Blessing ceremony was one huge fashion show.
Gloria's female friends wore all kinds of world-known fashion designers, from Dior through Vera Wang to Givenchy.
But the bride decided for a Hollywood-inspired gown by Balenciaga , which costed tens of thousands of pounds. She was also furious that Anne didn't let her wear anything bigger than Queen Jane's Diamond Circlet.

The only good thing on that wedding was that Gloria's complete attire was payed by her father Geoffrey Stevenson and not by British taxpayers.

Nicolas couldn't even remember when he felt good next to her. Maybe shortly before their engagement.

And then, shortly after New Year, he received the best present ever.
Prime Minister put his request out on private meeting of British Government, and they gave him their approval for divorcing from Gloria.

But he should've know it will not be as easy as he thought.

When he first brought it up, she had a hysteric attack. In their apartment at St. James's Palace was never quite quiet, but that evening he had to call their nanny to take Clarissa out of the room, because even plates started flying around him.

Gloria told him that she'll never except the divorce, no matter what. It wasn't important for her that he'd take their daughter away from her, only if she'd have stayed at their palace apartment, wearing expensive designers, drinking expensive alcohol and having tittle of Duchess.

But then Anne came with the final word. His dear cousin saved him once again.
The Queen met with surprisingly sober Gloria at the Buckingham Palace and announced her that if she'll not except the divorce, she'll do anything to expelled her from the United Kingdom.
Anne actually knew she didn't have enough power to do that, but Gloria didn't know that and it all made its work.

She finally agreed on divorce from Nicolas at the beginning of February, and the announcement was released immediately the next day.
According to their pre-wedding contract, Gloria will receive 1/8 on Nicolas's current possessions, including Nicolas's flat in Paris.
Clarissa will remain in Nick's custody until age of 18 or her personal request.

And when Gloria signed divorce papers in his office at St.James's Palace in presence of their lawyer and the Queen, Nicolas felt how that huge weight was lifted from his shoulders.
    He was free man again.

So, I wanted to make clear how Nick and Gloria's relationship actually worked. And because I really didn't want to put it on my set's page, this was a great alternative to it.
Maybe will be slightly upgraded later.
