Cheery and surrounded by others Leia Niederreiter will turn with a simple easy smile upon her face and it is hard not to want to know her. Leia makes it easy enough to approach her as well when she isn’t bustling through halls demanding the homecoming poster get moved somewhere else. Her air of authority reigns throughout and even when she is in the wrong, you kind of want to be on her side since she sounds so sure of herself. She steps naturally into any and all leadership roles that are presented toward her, those around her seem to expect it and rarely really fight her on them.

Leia Niederreiter is an easy breezy smile leaning out the passenger seat of the car window waving toward a group to get in or she’s standing before the entire room debating without a single stumble over a word. She’s fairly popular and well-liked throughout the school falling into just about every club presidency possible along with her class president status, all of which she takes with the utmost seriousness. Leia puts her passion and decisiveness into everything she does but when one of them was navigating the cool kid scene at Glenville High she didn’t expect to be truly successful as she was. The balance of her long-time friends whom she loves and genuinely care about vs those who cling towards her for status can be a bit unbearable at times. She just wants to make time for what she loves whether its golf or her girls and so many outside factors keep limiting that it is going to make her burst.

It’s not often a big fight, it is more often a little argument about their own opposing natures. Leia holds Lily accountable for everything she signs up for and will not let her slack because she knows Lily is capable and her voice should be heard. Lily grabs Leia and holds her back from diving into a new responsibility or leadership, reminding her that not every time does she have to be the first one talking.

Although Rasco and Marie love the bright and glorious force that is Leia, these wild childs nearly always find themselves making trouble in the Niederreiter household. Lily stopped asking Mallory if she could come over years ago; it's just an accepted part of their household that she might arrive and stay over at any moment in time. But their own parents are also really close. The Vegas and Niederreiters are often having barbecues and the like together. Frank and Mallory are some of the few people who don't judge Lily's parents and their teen pregnancy. Mallory knows how terrible it is to have people look down on you for your own decisions; she dealt with the same thing in marrying Frank. So they leave all the dirty glances behind and enjoy each other's company. When the families come together, it's always easy laughs all around.

Leia met Ruby later in middle school, she had known the other girl existed but they never really spoke. Then a partner project was called for and Leia’s “boyfriend” at the time seemed a little too eager to work with her since Leia was not that into him. Ruby seemingly saw the fear cross Leia’s eyes and dove into the seat next to her deciding right there that they would be partners...and friends came pretty swiftly after that.

Giggles and secrets secrets secrets. The two are the ones who often get called out in class to separate. Mumbling ‘your dad’ jokes during serious moments. They go to each other for advice and honestly just for someone to lend an ear. They know each other in and out. Leia continues to try and set Ru up but honestly it’s easier to climb mt everest. Also skipping hand in hand down school halls.

Ruby has never been more surprised in her life than when Leia invited her into the famous LDC. Ruby is closest with Leia in the LDC. They are usually the ones brightening up moods or bringing the laughter. These two often fall in step together, Ruby tends to agree with Leia in a group setting which she appreciates since theres always someone who likes to argue.

⇢ Ruby sometimes doesn’t keep things exactly as secret as Leia wants, especially when Leia complains about her relationship something that she thinks is definitely just between the two best friends but then Ruby lets it slip that Leia is not a fan of David’s haircut.
⇢ Leia on the other hand can sometimes take her own interests too seriously and attempts to force Ruby into student council or some other club without taking into account Ruby’s already busy schedule with cheering.
𝑀𝑒𝓂𝑜𝓇𝒶𝒷𝓁𝑒 𝓂𝑜𝓂𝑒𝓃𝓉𝓈:

Mallory has probably taken a long time to warm up to Ruby, because with all her pep and pompoms she reminded her of a negative time in her own life. But Ruby’s brightness and constant presence encouraged Mallory to give her another chance and it isn’t hard for Ruby to make someone like her. Kirk loves her, like Ruby constantly swearing was one of his favorite things - he probably has a joke with her where he counts the number of swears in a time span and will try to keep up with her but always loses. Frank finds her funny and a good person to be around Leia, they can often be found cheering together. Eggs probably wants to avoid Ruby as much as possible in the hallways, she wants to fly under the radar or at least just get by without conforming to the high school tropes of her sister and her friends. The Hodges are a little concerned with the lack of attendance that the Niederrieters have at Sunday service, but they don’t take that out on Leia who shows up some Sundays with a cheery smile and a round of applause for Ruby who was giving a reading that day or who always tags along to all of the volunteering.
