  • @gemini I too have really oily skin. I use a charcoal, tea tree oil and red clay soap at night but only when I go out I have had makeup on, I use it after I use makeup wipes. In the morning I use a Neutrogena ultra gentle cleanser gel, but I want to change it, I find that it does not do anything to make my skin better, and it is kind of drying. My approach to my oily skin is to be as gentle as possible so I'm on the hunt for a really reaaally gentle (maybe non-foaming) everyday cleanser. The Garnier micellar water is really good I think, really soft. I try to stay away from products that are targeted to acne skin, as I find them to be too harsh. I also use a rose water at night before the serum. I'm using a Nivea one, the Q10 one I stole from my mom, and sometimes I use a vit C serum too. Regarding moisturizers, I'm on the hunt for a good hydrating cream but with a matte finish.

@wetdreams I like your routine. Maybe you should try black soap with activated charcoal for cleaning your face. It's really good, and removes everything.Did you try micellar water from loreal?
Also what ever I do with my face after like 10 minutes it's oily again πŸ˜‚

  • @gemini I would not recommend black soap every day morning and night, even for us oily skin gals, I think is too strong and may cause irritation. The one micellar water I own is the pink one in your picture, the Garnier one. But I think they all may do the same thing? I don't know.
But yes, after like 20 to 30 minutes my skin is pouring sebum again, and it is so annoying and like I can literally see the little dots of oil coming from out the pores, I hate it! hahaha I think is just the way our skin is, every research I have made tells me that oily skin will remain oily no matter what, until we get pregnant and the skin changes from the hormones, or with age. So in the meantime let's just take care of it.
Do you know of any good mask or sheet mask?

  • Deutschprachige Gruppe

@wetdreams I use soap only at night and I don't have any reaction. But removes blackheads so it's ok
I think Loreal is better than Garnier but idk..
Hahahah yes same, but actually that sebum it's like ''anti aging'' thing for us ,so it's fine πŸ˜‚
I use this mask from Sephora. I got rid of blemishes with this mask.

    Btw do you have acne?

  • that mask sound really interesting!
I do have acne, but very recently. I'm in my mid twenties, and got out of university just this year, so all the pressure got me in a very bad situation for my skin. I developed some cystic acne in my cheek, near the jawline, and I am now dealing with getting rid of that acne and acne marks. I'm using aloe vera cream, as I heard is good for that, but it's been only a week so let's hope for good results πŸ™‚
    Do you have acne?

  • Deutschprachige Gruppe

    @wetdreams
Yes same with me,it was so bad..and with a lot of stress it's even worse. You can use some medical creams for acne.Like antibiotic creams if you know what i mean? πŸ˜†
I'm in my early 20s,but I had acne before, until I stopped eating dairy. I spent a lot of money on skin care, and the problem was food 😭 😭

  • @gemini okay I lowkey think this is my problem I have tried everything and my skin is so sensitive it's so frustrating

  • Deutschprachige Gruppe

@filthysoul Really? πŸ˜• What is your skin type?

  • @gemini combination some parts are dry but mostly fine I just wish when I tried stuff for dry skin it actually worked and didn't make me breakout

i know this convo is from a while ago but thought id pitch in cause i have super dry skin and its super sensitive too. i really like the brand "simple" i find its super gentle, doesnt make me break out or burn and irritate my skin. maybe youve tried it already cause it is advertised for sensitive skin, but thought id pitch in cause its helped me out a lot! its also silicone free which ive noticed is a big culprit behind a lot of my breakouts
when my skin is particular angry w me i cut my routine down and simplify it just using the Simple moisturizing cleanser and moisturizer and some silicone free sunscreen!!

  • @madslolo thank you for sharing I have heard of it but honestly I keep forgetting when I go to the store so thank you for the reminder! ❀
