โŠฑ At home, Eli is quiet, not sullen. He mostly keeps to himself, not really branching out beyond his close circle of friends. Well, those friends have somewhat abandoned him as of late. Watching someone you thought you knew kill before your very eyes is a bit of a friendship damper. However, Eli tries to keep up appearances. He's found often ambling through the Town's Square, heading from the meat mart to the bakery and even to a blacksmith's home for a new sickle. He gives his money freely, often helping anyone he sees struggling (even if it's just an old lady needing help with carrying her groceries).

โŠฑ A lot of the same traits that allowed him to win the Games are much less severe when he's not in a killing context. In fact, the reason why Eli has always been a bit of a loner is due to the fact that he's insecure and terrified of people finding his faults. Intimacy is certainly not one of his strong suits, and even his family struggles to know what's going on with him. He used to be such a bright spot, innocent and curious about the world. Now, he quietly explores things all on his lonesome.

โŠฑ That isn't to say that Eli is without his charms. When needed, he can persuade anyone of anything. This helps when it comes to his mandatory visits to the Capitol. While the Capitol loves his sullen, bad-boy archetype, he certainly needs to be a little friendly when it comes to appealing to Capitol sentiments. While it also serves other purposes within the Captiol, Eli's debonair attitude also helps him at home. Many people, while thankful that his winning gave District 9 another consecutive year of rations, fear Eli because of what they saw such a small, lithe boy do. At least when he's charming and charismatic, people forget who he actually is: a murderer.

โŠฑ When it came to the Games, Eli became Elijah. His full name surrounded him everywhere, and he was tasked with manipulating that name into meaning something. "Elijah" came to mean something other than what "Eli" means. Elijah was calculating, cold, and ready to win. He was a spritely fourteen-year-old, and it made perfect sense for him to win the 72nd Hunger Games.

โŠฑ Quick to anger and insurrection, Elijah get out of his Chariot when it came time for him to don the incredibly stupid costume his designers came up for him. He wasn't a trophy for them to tout around, and for some reason, the Capitol found that thrilling. He was a breath of fresh air. After all, who thought to ride one of the horses that led the Chariots? Why would anyone do that? Elijah, the innovator.

โŠฑ What made him obstinate and awkward at home made him light up on stage, facing thousands of Capitol citizens. His quiet nature made him a cold-blooded killer. His coach concocted this fable about him being a natural leader, known to sustain his family on his antics and hard-work. However, Eli wasn't without his personality. He's quick to let his feelings rise to the surface, often in a negative fashion. When it came down to it, he's the one who killed his friend in the Games. Sure, they'd only met for the first time when taken to the Training Center. However, Elijah still earned a reputation of callousness and coldness. They say that itโ€™s survival of the fittest, and Elijah proved himself of this.

โŠฑ After the Games, Elijah had a name for himself in the Capitol. He took to drinking regularly and doing hard drugs. Painkillers became his new favorite party favor, and Capitol citizens were more than happy to provide. President Snow sought to keep Elijah closer, allowing the Capitol to have a plethora of 1 on 1 experiences with the young boy. While nothing sexual occurred, his time away from home certainly allowed him to indulge in more hedonistic pleasures.

โžถ amazed everyone when he won his Games at only 14.
โžถ known to be suave, yet shy. Can turn on the charm when provoked, though otherwise heโ€™s very silent and sullen
โžถ sarcasm is his favorite language
โžถ already feeling the ramifications of the Games, especially since heโ€™s become a Capitol crony.
โžถ yet, people arenโ€™t fooled by his smile, which is kind despite reality. The Capitol adores him, particularly because of the amazement of having the strength and smarts to kill so many other Tributes. However, the other Districts arenโ€™t fooled. Neither is President Snow.
โžถ The way he managed to win his Games has everything to do with the will of The Rebels. With a small, interconnected map of them in the Capitol, he managed to survive the Games.
โžถ frankly, a bit pissed off his older sibling is also in these Games with him. He knows that itโ€™s either The Rebels or Snow that has to do with it, but he canโ€™t tell. What is there to gain by putting his sibling at risk?
โžถ aware of The Rebelsโ€™ plans for this Games, but he doesnโ€™t know the specifics
โžถ The Suspicious Victor doesn't know as much about The Rebels' plans as much as other characters, though how they won their Games has to do with The Rebels

    ๐•ฐ๐–๐–™๐–Š๐–“๐–‰๐–Š๐–‰ ๐•ญ๐–†๐–ˆ๐–๐–Œ๐–—๐–”๐–š๐–“๐–‰

โŠฑ As the youngest of five older siblings, Eli has always struggled with being the small dog of the pack. This is particularly true since he won The 72nd Hunger Games. He brought his family to live with him in The Victor's Square, and he's still treated like a little kid. Sure, he is one, but he also murdered a total of ten kids. Shouldn't he be treated better than that?

โŠฑ It's a moot point, however, as Elijah will likely never reach past the age of innocence in the eyes of his family. Everyone just wants to pretend the Games never happened. They don't want to think about how they watched their precious boy murder other innocents. They don't want to confront reality, even when Eli begs them to {If his sibling ends up being played, this can be modified so that they are the only one who doesn't pretend that Eli didn't go through The Games}.

โŠฑ Nowadays, Elijah spends his time just trying to move on. It's not that he wants to forget the kids he met in the Games. It's not even that he's trying to pretend he's innocent. He simply wants to sleep at night and know that he tried to do something productive with his life. The 23 lives lost in the 72nd Games won't go to waste. However, it's easier said than done when it comes to being District 9's most recent Victor. Two years ago, he started to coach Tributes for the Games, resulting in his private life being dragged out every 11 or so months. His Victory Tour is perpetually brought up, with Caesar making good-natured jokes about what is otherwise a play for insurrection.

โŠฑ When Elijah set out to make a plethora of speeches across the country, he didn't plan on saying anything stupid or inflammatory. However, he managed to practically fall on his face when he entered District 9's stage, and then when he visited District 4, he derailed from the speech written for him. Helena, the District 4 Tribute, was the second to last person to die. Upon seeing her family, Eli couldn't pretend that he didn't care. The Rebels may have had something to do with her death, but he was the one who lived instead of her. He was the one who looked like he killed her.

โŠฑ Breaking down, he looked at Helena's little sister. She deserved to have her sibling home, and it was because of him that she didn't. Derailing from the script, Elijah talked about how kind Helena had been to him, how he regretted the way things ended between them. Lastly, he told District 4 had no reason to forgive him for taking one of their daughters, but he hopes to do something grandiose in his life to make her death, along with the 23 others, worth it.

โŠฑ While he meant no ill-will behind it, it caused some upset with the Districts. In many places, his speech appeared to be a condemnation of the Games and what they force upon people. After all- weren't Helena and Elijah allies for most of the Games? What about his other two allies from Districts 12 and 6? Didn't they, too, die in horrific manners because of this kill-fest? Nothing happened except rumors began to circulate. People started meeting after the curfews in their Districts. At one point, Eli received a message from some Rebels in District 10, who had received information from District 13 and wanted to congratulate him on his ability to get the conversation started. More specifically, District 13 told him they "made the right decision in saving" him from the Games. As though he wasn't still the one who did the killing, survived an arena akin to a nuclear wasteland (and the Capitol's monsters), and lived to tell the tale.

โŠฑ Feeling indebted to The Rebels movement, Eli tries not to be mad that he's been Reaped again. Sure, he was promised freedom from this bullshit, but he had to know that his Games wouldn't be the end of it. The only thing that ticks him off is the fact that his older sibling has been Reaped. It's unfair that any more people have to pay for his sins.

When he was Reaped for the 72nd Hunger Games, Elijah Noรซl did not expect to win. He knew the statistical improbability of a District winning The Games twice, much less the even worse statistic of winning the Games at fourteen. He was still a child then, and he didn't expect much. When his family hugged and kissed him goodbye, he told them not to miss him. He'd always be here, at least in spirit. His family are deeply spiritual, believing in ghosts and a life beyond. He hoped his soul would come back to their little house.

โŠฑ The Training Center was terrifying, especially because half of the Tributes were sixteen or above, making him the smallest kid around. He knew what his one shot at survival was: a sickle. It was the kind he was familiar with at home, particularly because he'd help in the fields when his parent(s) were running behind. Fortunately, that time came to good use, as he knew how to use it, store it, and sharpen its blade. Through showing proficiency with the sickle, and even a scythe if need be, Elijah managed to make a few allies from Districts 4, 6, and 12. Helena, his favorite amongst them, became his closest friend and ally despite being only fifteen herself. Calamity, the District 6 Tribute he befriended, was a large girl of about seventeen. She looked like a bodybuilder and fought like one too. Lastly, there was Unger, the District 12 Tribute, was a sickly boy of only twelve. He was one of the first to die in the Games, going after the goods in the Cornucopia despite his mentor's warnings. On the first night in the arena, Eli and Helena had held each other and cried as quietly as they could until Calamity whispered for them to shapen up.

โŠฑ However, before the Games itself, there were the pageantry events that Eli suffered through. He was the first person ever to jump on the back of a Chariot-pulling horse and ride it instead of the Chariot. It caused laughter and intrigue amongst the Capitol, and Eli's mentor said it was probably the best thing he could've done. That's when Eli found out about The Rebels and their plans. They'd saved the Victor from District 9, [NAME TBD], last year in an attempt to plant the seeds of rebellion. When Eli asked why it was District 9 who was chosen to survive, he was met with no clear answer other than the fact that District 9 is one of the most heavily populated Districts, given it is a perfect medium between being rich and being destitute. Not to mention, last year's Victor was one of The Rebel's own. What Eli didn't know was their parent's {or The Big Sibling's} connection to The Rebels.

โŠฑ Going into the Games, Eli knew he had people on the outside, possibly even the Head Gamemaker himself, assisting in his success. That didn't stop him from getting hurt, by any means. There were just odd things, like the happenstance finding of a sickle or Helena finding someone's 'dropped' medicine. When Calamity died, Eli took three of the four careers out before she dropped dead. It was also no mistake that a quarter of the Tributes died due to the Capitol's mutts being implanted into the Game. The concrete wasteland that made up most of the Arena made it easy for Helena and Elijah to hide during the day and only move at night.

โŠฑ Elijah's Game was one of the shortest in history. Lasting on a week, 90% of the Tributes had been killed either by Eli, Helena, the Careers, or the Arena itself. When it came down to the last two Tributes, it was just Eli and Helena. They were standing in the opening of the Cornucopia, having just killed the last Career. Well, or so they thought. Helena and Eli were looking at each other, lost and confused as to how they were the last two to survive. Why hadn't one of them been killed yet? Eli ran over the statistics over and over again, even though he knew that it was because of The Rebels he survived this long. It just was now his responsibility to survive past Helena, who he didn't want to leave without.

โŠฑ Helena encouraged him to do, begging him to let her go quickly and quietly. He was doing the same, telling her he wouldn't hold anything against her. It turned into a whole argument, where Helena held out her dagger, jabbing it in his direction. They were further into the Cornucopia now, shadows dancing all around them. Eli's foot knocked into the corpse of the District 2 Tribute they killed. When the argument finally reached a head, it appeared that Helena would kill Eli, getting this over with. However, the Career jumped up, slitting her throat. Distraught, Eli gathered her into his arms and dragged her out. His sickle was covered in blood, and her knife was reddened. Needless to say, it didn't look good. Ultimately, Helena's death was attributed to Eli. The world saw that Eli killed the person he'd been with the entirety of the Games- someone he considered a friend. He was a monster.
